This module is on Business Sales, Mergers, and Acquisitions (M&A) and Valuing Companies being sold or acquired. It explores M&A transactions of the size local, community and national bank branches are most likely to be asked to consider. Its primary objective is to review the key points of knowledge and issues which Bank Directors and Banking Executives should possess in order to assess M&A transactions from the position of confidence and safety / security that is consistent with the business model and market of their own specific bank. Its secondary objective is to present clearly and in a challenging manner the generalizations and misconceptions which too often lead to sub-optimal or even dangerous conclusions and decisions.
