HMDA is always one of the more complex regulatory topics out there. There are so many data fields with very specific requirements. Plus, we’re now in an age where regulators are citing lenders for data integrity violations and even assessing civil money penalties. How is your process? Now is a good time to do a checkup on your processes, as well as your data. There are more than a few tripwires and tricky data points to keep track of, and that requires a detailed and consistent process to ensure the right information is collected and submitted every time. In this webinar, we’ll review in detail all the pain points of the numerous HMDA data fields, including the always-challenging action taken, application date, and many other data points. We’ll also go over many of the requirements to ensure you’re reporting everything that you should be. We’ll review the differences between prequalifications and preapprovals, as well as conditional approvals. We’ll also address a number of other questions. What will examiners be looking for? What are the fair lending issues and risks you need to be aware of after submission? Through his more than 35-year working career, as well as through his experience as a banking attorney and officer, he has provided a variety of regulatory compliance and financial performance services to financial institutions and other clients throughout the country. He has written extensively regarding consumer and commercial compliance, tax, audit, and financial institution legal issues, and is a frequent contributor to and currently serves as the Chair of the Editorial Advisory Board for the ABA Bank Compliance magazine.
